This engine is an E85 Ethanol version of the 3UR-FE engine. The 3UR-FBE engine has 8 cylinders in a V-arrangement at a bank angle of 90° The 3UR-FBE features die-cast aluminum cylinder block with a five-bearings crankshaft and two aluminum heads with two chain-driven camshafts (DOHC) and four valves per cylinder (32 in total). The Toyota 3UR-FBE engine is equipped with L-type sequential fuel injection (SFI) system, Direct Ignition System (DIS) ignition system with individual coils on each spark plug, Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), Electronic Spark Advance (ESA) and ETCS-i (Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent). The engine also used a Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing) system for the intake and exhaust camshafts.
